As a Field Applications Engineer at BrainChip, you will own and drive pre-sales technical discussions with current and prospective customers around the BrainChip Akida product line. With the main focus on supporting Akida as an IP offering, this role requires an understanding of the design environment, NPU solutions, and the overall SoC architecture.  You must be able to communicate effectively at the engineering level with customers, understand their objectives and needs in order to develop and articulate a differentiated value proposition, as well as a BrainChip technical solution appropriate to the customer requirements’. You will work closely with the Sales team to help meet sales targets, you will also act as the customer’s technical voice within the company. The ideal candidate will have a background in AI both processing and models software development & SoC implementation. A minimum of 5 years prior experience in a customer-facing pre-sales role is required.


  • Work with sales teams and take technical ownership of the sales process
  • Understand customer’s technical requirements & propose solutions to help support best in class solutions
  • Be the customer’s trusted advisor
  • Own and drive customer product evaluations, create and perform product demos, run customer benchmarks or analysis on customer configurations,
  • Provide technical product training to the customer
  • Be the voice of the customer internally with the ability to clearly articulate detailed technical requirements to various internal stakeholders
  • Support Marketing activities as needed, in the form of webinars, blog posts, writing application notes, supporting trade-shows
  • Ability to understand and present complex technical requirements, problems, and solutions concisely in verbal and written communications
  • Ability to analyze, summarize and generate status updates from technical data


  • BS/MS in Electronics or Computer Science, 10+ years of proven experience
  • Familiarity with state-of-art SoC design implementation
  • Broad understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, CNN, and Neuromorphic Computing
  • Travel (~ 30%) required to visit customer, sales, and engineering locations
  • Experience with IP sales & technical support
  • Experience with AI software development tools
  • Experience working with chip developers supporting computer vision, data analytics, or Deep Learning
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment
